These codes describe very different buyers, so decide who you are selling to first.

A Better Test Than a Code
A SIC code is only what a company declared. By contrast, GOV.UK says letting agents and property managers in England and Wales must join a redress scheme, as must estate agents dealing with residential property in the UK. The approved schemes are The Property Ombudsman and the Property Redress Scheme. So scheme membership can be a stronger sign that a firm really does this work.

The Office for National Statistics finalised UK SIC 2026 in April 2026, and several of these codes change.

- Pick one audience. Use the table above.
- Add size and location. A national agent and a single-block company are very different customers.
- Remove companies you do not want. Decide on purpose whether to include 98000.
- Test a sample. Check it against firms you know.
